This course looks at classical formulations of the Social Contract Tradition, locating them in historical context, but then shifts to the contemporary debates as they relate to politics today.

About the course:

SSLD conceptualization of relationship: Addressing participants’ needs as key condition of possibility. This course will discuss the social exchange theory, life-scripts, managing differences, and responsive assertiveness.


  • Identify some of the underlying social scripts around us.
  • Recognize pervasive influence of social scripts.
  • Explain the role of social scripts and its effects on relationships.
  • Apply changes from unquestioningly following social scripts to a more rational design of a relationship game plan that takes into account the N3C of yourself and your partner(s).
